DAY TRIPS
Come and spend time with the elephants at our project for the day!
Here at the ECR, not only can we offer an amazing volunteer opportunity, but if you don't have the time or you are only in Sri Lanka for a short time, we also offer Day Trips where you can come to the project for a few hours for a small fee.
We organise these trips on all days of the week, but we would request a bit more notice if you are coming on the weekend.
WHAT DOES THE DAY PACKAGE INCLUDE?
With our Day Trips, the package includes meeting our elephants and watching them graze, learning all about them, walking with them to the river, feeding them, and having the opportunity to take nice ethical photos with them. Lunch and drinking water are all included in the package.
ITINERARY
- We meet at the project location at 10:30.
- We then drive over to where our elephants are grazing. This is where you will meet our elephants. We watch them graze as we explain to you about our project and our elephants, feel free to ask as many questions as you want, we’re always happy to educate.
- As the sun gets to its highest point, we then make our way to the river. The elephants will go at their own pace, so we will arrive at the beach point before them.
- Once they arrive we eat lunch whilst watching them bathe in the river. Lunch will consist of fried rice and short eats, and we can cater to most dietary needs, so please feel free to let us know what you need.
- After lunch, our volunteers will give us the vitamin balls they have prepared, and we can feed them to our elephants.
- Feel free to take pictures of them, or stand at the beachfront and take pictures. We don’t allow clients to touch our elephants.
- After this, feel free to stay and relax as long as you’d like, we typically finish the trip at around 13:00-14:00. We drive back to the meeting location where the program will then finish.
PRICING
Our Day Trip package is priced at $35 per person. We work very hard to try and give you the cheapest package in Sri Lanka. If you are interested please feel free to fill out the form below or contact us.
The project is located around 1 hour from Kandy, 30 minutes from Pinnawala, and 3 hours from Colombo.
Once you have contacted us, we will then book you in and provide you with all the information needed for the trip, including the meeting point, as this is different than the location listed on Google Maps (our offices).
